About over here and over there

First, I'll address the question you put to me here. For one thing, every picture that is on Wikimedia Commmons is already here. It would be technically possible to add any picture from http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:The_Holocaust to any page here. Whether or not that picture stays on the page would be a matter of taste. I wouldn't have a problem with a photo of prisoners, one of piles of corpses would be a different matter.

I am not going to unblock you on Judaism Wiki. More than once now you have said that you were about to remove your mistakes when you found out you were blocked (that doesn't make much sense, I had already edited everything you had written and already removed anything potentially offensive) but when I first blocked you, you protested that you had done nothing wrong. I removed your right to edit your own talk page because that right should only have been used to protest your block, not to add pictures (yes, I know you deleted it afterwards). Besides, you had already stated your case and you had not convinced me.

It's true that the edits that you then made as an anonymous user did not contain anything that anybody would find offensive, but that's not the point. Blocked users don't edit, it's as simple as that. It wouldn't be much of a punishment otherwise. If I do find you have edited there anonymously again, you will be blocked forever. I'm serious.

I have no interest in trying to get you blocked on the Hebrew version of Judaism Wiki and I couldn't care less what you do over there. It makes no difference to my decision.

You are not the first non-Jewish user who has come to Judaism Wiki and tried to be helpful by creating lots of pages about anti-semitism. But that's really not what the wiki is about. We want to celebrate the joy of being Jewish and don't want loads of unpleasant stuff on there. Anyway, I don't think it's going to change anybody's mind.

This wiki is, of course, a very different beast from Judaism Wiki. You can write BC and AD if you like and I won't change it. You can write about Jesus as much as you want to. You can even write pages from a Christian POV as long as you put {{opinion}} at the top of the page, although I think it's best to try to keep all pages here as neutral as possible. I will patrol your changes (just as I patrol all changes here) and correct any grammar and spelling mistakes I find. I am not interested in changing the POV of anything you write here.

I'm sure that a lot of what you were planning to add to Judaism Wiki could be put here and you may want to try http://christianity.wikia.com as well, seriously.--Simon Peter Hughes (talk) 06:39, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
