The Republic of Zambia (pronounced /ˈzæmbiə/) is a landlocked country in Southern Africa. The neighbouring countries are the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the north, Tanzania to the north-east, Malawi to the east, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia to the south and Angola to the west. The capital city is Lusaka, located in the southeast of the country. The population is concentrated mainly around the capital in the south and the Copperbelt to the northwest.

Religion in Zambia[]

Although many different religions are practiced there, Zambia is an officially Christian country. The most popular Christian denominations are Roman Catholicism, Anglicanism and Pentecostalism. Zambia has a small Jewish community, predominantly Ashkenazi. Islam is the religion of 5% of Zambians. The Baha'i Faith is followed by 1.5% of Zambia's people. About 0.1% of Zambians are Buddhists. There are small communities of Hindus and Sikhs, most of whom can trace their ancestry to India or Pakistan.
