The Evangelical Fellowship of Missions Agencies was formed in 1946 as a result of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) recognition that there was not a sufficient amount of networking and communication between the missions arms of the NAE members.

Their "Vision" is "to see mission organizations and their leaders, learn in global community, serve at the highest capacity and pursue intentional synergy that accelerates the missional work of Jesus." Their mission is "to facilitate relational and developmental initiatives that increase the effectiveness of mission organizations by adding value to their leaders and stimulating partnership in the missions community."[1]

Their Core Values include Service, Learning, Relationships, Synergy, Diversity, Effectiveness, and Crossing Cultures [2]

The current president of the EFMA is Steve Moore.
